Dear Prospective Student and Parent/Guardian,
I am very pleased to welcome you to St. Bruno School, and very excited that you chose to consider Catholic Education. When deciding to choose Catholic Education you are deciding to instill lifelong values and committing to a curriculum that educates the mind, body and spirit. Our faculty and staff of St. Bruno’s are dedicated to serving the families and children of the community.
A child’s education at St. Bruno’s starts in Prekindergarten, at three years old and goes through eighth grade. Through their career each student is exposed to multiple opportunities to learn and grow, including but not limited to the many clubs and athletics available to the student after school. The curriculum is based on the Archdiocesan GAINS Benchmarks, and our teachers strive to challenge our students by integrating technology on a regular basis and instituting data-driven initiatives. I am very excited to announce the start of two new programs in the 2015-2016 school year: our Mandarin Language Program for those kids in 2nd-7th, and our recent partnership with The Museum of Science and Industry in establishing a strong STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Program.
In addition to our vigorous curriculum, faith is incorporated on a daily basis. Students attend mass weekly, are present at confession on a monthly basis, study religion and reflect every day. Each year our third grade class receives the Sacraments of Holy Communion and Reconciliation and every other year our seventh and eighth graders combine to form the Confirmation Class.
Our students take the Aspire test written by ACT every year from 3rd to 8th grade. After graduating eighth grade, students are well prepared to excel in school and have a good sense of self. Our students generally get placed in competitive high schools, such as St. Ignatius, St. Lawrence, Mother McAuley, Brother Rice, and the honors program at Curie High School.
When choosing St. Bruno, you are not only choosing a school, you are choosing to become a part of a family!
I look forward to seeing you at St. Bruno,
