Recognition and Awards
Throughout the years, St Bruno School, its teachers, and students have
been recognized for excellence. The list that follows includes only
achievements in very recent years.
St Bruno School received full accreditation from the
Office of Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Chicago and the State
of Illinois.

The preschool program earned accreditation from the National
Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

In summer 2007, Mrs Kielbasa, sixth grade homeroom teacher and
junior high science teacher was recognized by the Archer Heights
Kiwaniis as a Teacher Who Makes a Difference.

During the Catholic schools week Mass, Mrs Kathy (Kindergarten
teacher) and Ms Diane (Grade 1 teacher) each received commendations
from the National Catholic Education Association for over 30 years
of outstanding service to children in Catholic Schools.

The faculty of St Bruno School was the 2005 recipient of the
Cardinal Bernardin Award for Teacher Achievement.

The sixth grade girls’ volleyball team won a number of first place
trophies and awards in tournaments in the 2005-2007 school year.

The fourth grade boys’ basketball team won first place in their
division in 2006-2007.

One of the seventh grade students placed second in regional division
of the Patriot’s Pen contest sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary of
the Veterans of foreign Wars in Fall 2006.

The poetry of one of the eighth grade students was published in the
Anthology of Poetry for Students in spring 2007.
