Parent's Letter
September 1, 2010

Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are into our second week of school, and there are still plenty of smiling faces- students and parents. Our students are doing a great job of acclimating themselves to their schedules and to St. Bruno School life. We still have a few spots left in the PreK 3/4 classroom, so please share with your family, friends, or neighbors.
Family Handbook
Please sign and return the acknowledgement form stating that you have read and agree to comply with the school’s outlined policies.
Medical Forms
Please note that all medical, dental, and vision forms are due to the office by Sept. 27. Also, please return the Health History form to the office.
Dismissal Forms
The PreK through 4th grade teachers and I need to know who has permission to pick up your child/ren at dismissal time. Students in 5th through 8th grade need to have a permission to walk home form on file in the office. Please return all forms containing this information.
Morning Care & Breakfast
Students arriving before 7:30 need to be dropped off and signed in for Morning Care in the St. Joseph’s Room. Ms. Dawn Baiter will send students in Morning Care to receive breakfast. Students receiving breakfast only may also enter through the St. Joseph’s Room at or after 7:30 a.m. Unless prior arrangements have been made with a teacher, no other student should be in the building until 7:50a.m.
Fiesta 2010
The yearly Fiesta Fundraiser has moved to a new month. Mark your calendars for Saturday, Sept 18 and plan to join us for a wonderful evening of fun, food, and dancing.
Sports Committee
Thank you to everyone who attended the Sports Council meeting. The wonderful turnout clearly reflects your interest and commitment to our students and the program. An executive committee was elected and subcommittees were formed. Please return all Sport’s registration forms to the office by Friday.
Innisbrook Fundraiser
Yes, it’s early! But why not be prepared? Order some beautiful wrapping paper, gift tags, or cards and help support our Sports Program. All proceeds help offset the purchase of new equipment for the teams. All orders are due September 17.

World’s Finest Chocolate
If you are participating in this fundraiser, don’t forget to pick up your boxes of candy from the office. All money is due by Sept. 30.
Staff News
Both the Computer and 7th Grade positions were filled. We warmly welcome Ms. Grace Sturtz, who began teaching computers today and Ms. Katherine Ciccarrelli, our new 7th Grade homeroom teacher, who started on Monday past.
Volunteers
All volunteers must complete the Safe Environment requirements. In order to help parents meet these requirements, on the evening of Parent Night (Sept 2) we will open the computer lab at 5:00p.m. until 6:15p.m, so parents can access the website and complete the CBC (Background Check). Also, I have arranged for a Virtus Training workshop to be held at the school on Saturday, Sept. 25 from 1p.m. until 4p.m. Depending on interest, I will arrange a workshop for an evening in October as well.
Girl Scouts
The Girl Scout organization is in need of a parent volunteer to help lead the program. If you are interested in helping the young girls in our parish/school build character and skills for future success, please email Ms. Rosanna Enriquez at theenriquez@comcast.net
Parent Night
I hope to see you all at Parent Night. This is great opportunity to meet with the teachers and find out what exciting things are happening this year in our classrooms. Each teacher will lead two 20 minute long presentations for you. If the classroom door is closed when you arrive, that means the first presentation has started. Please wait for the second one. Please note that this is an adult only event. Childcare for St. Bruno students is available in the St. Joseph Room.

Regards,
Katrina McDermott
